Bob Davies

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob on the 12th January 2025. Bob founded the original partnership with John West in 1973, he has previously worked in London and studied architecture at Kingston School of Art & Architecture. He lead the practice for over 50 years and since the 90’s enjoyed working from his ‘atelier’ in south west France travelling back to the UK frequently. 

Bob was a prolific designer and problem solver, his ability to quickly assess and optimise site use being valued by all. His hand drawings were a delight on the eye and always conveyed the message of simple, contextual, high quality architectural design. Bob worked until his last few days – pen and paper always at hand. 

Although a huge loss, Bob leaves the practice in good shape. Thank you for everything you have done.
